Community Living Central York has been providing Associate Family homes for over 40 years. The Associate Family Program is a residential option that provides caring home environments, based on the foster care model, for people who have developmental disabilities. The success of the Associate Family Program lies in the detailed matching process utilized to match potential Associate Families with the person who requires support. Matching of interests, cultures and community locations are paramount in building and maintaining a long standing relationship between the Associate Family, the person and their biological family. Communication and interaction between the biological and Associate Families is encouraged and expected.

Community Living Central York is currently looking for Associate Families, living within the York Region area. We require a family that can provide a loving and caring home environment to a child or adult who has a developmental disability. Experience in Developmental Services is preferred but not necessary. Associate Families are asked to make a commitment to the person receiving support and are provided with regular relief, tailored training, support and remuneration.
