The SIL Program is designed to support individuals in their homes or typically in their apartments. Support
is also offered while they are in the family home and progress is made
to transition the person to their own apartment/home environment.

There is currently one SIL Manager , 7 F/T SIL Caseworkers and 3 P/T Caseworker. Each Caseworker carries a case-load of between 5 to 8 people.

The frequency and type of support varies with each person. The minimum hours of support would be 6 hours per week, up to a maximum of 15 hours a week.

The type of support offered through the SIL Program is varied, dependant on the expressed needs of the individual.

restricted to: Budgeting--Money Handling--Menu Planning--Grocery
Shopping--Cooking Skills--Home Maintenance--Emotional Support--
Assistance with Appointments--Medication Administration--Community
Connection--Group Support/Workshops--Personal Hygiene....

A professional and respectful working relationship is expected between case worker and the person receiving support.

Individuals
will be supported to maintain a level of cleanliness that ensures
health and safety risks are minimal. Supports may also include the
areas of addressing fire hazards and maintaining safe food practices.
