A COMMUNITY WHERE EVERYONE BELONGS! About Us... Community Living Newmarket/Aurora District came into being in 1954 as a result of the work of family members and concerned citizens who were committed to developing support for those in the community with developmental disabilities. They organized themselves to affect positive change in the lives of these people. For 50 years, the Association has dedicated its efforts to creating lives for individuals with developmental disabilities which promote their participation, friendship & citizenship in the community. Services have grown to enhance the quality of life of the individuals we support. In 2004, Community Living is celebrating its 50th anniversary. The Association is incorporated as a non-profit organization and receives funding through the Ministry of Community and Social Services, The United Way of York Region and from private and corporate members of the community. The words "Community Living" reflect a growing understanding that disabled individuals have the right to live a fully integrated life within the community. The right to live, to go to school, to work and to enjoy recreation in their home community belongs to all. Click here to download our brochure with membership form included.
